Purpose of Lives

Posted in Personal on July 24, 2012 by Kagyur Tulku Rinpochey
It is so often we hear about how people are trying to preserve their youth and using different anti-aging methods to achieve that. First of all, we must ask ourselves what the purpose of our lives is and why we are trying so hard to prolong it. Without this important question we will only be able to see life at a very superficial level!

“The secret of a happy marriage remains a secret”………Henny Youngman

Posted in Personal on June 6, 2012 by Kagyur Tulku Rinpochey

Marriage is the merging of two hearts into a purely loving-nature as for a lifetime. It is also the two persons together composing a new chapter for their new SAMSARA!

There are many different cultures of marriage; specially the old school of thought; most people preferred getting married into same cast and same religion. This arrangement was done with the support of an astrologer, parents and priest etc. However, this was more like a custom or preparation with the aim of producing children than a marriage in its true sense!

I am not totally against ancient cultures but there are many occasions we have to understand the reason behind those cultures. Time changes swiftly by the second and the entire universe is moving ahead, every law and custom even those of all the religions founded by human beings, sometimes warrants a change to ensure benefit to the society at large. At this time and era, how does arrange-marriage work?  Without knowing each other, how can you expect two people to live together for life-time. It may not lead a happy marriage, on the contrary it is likely to trap both of people for into a lifelong mutual torture. Many of them do compromise and pretend to have a happy marriage, it is really unfortunate. I usually say; Samsara within a Samsara! Life is too short to live; it is always better to live free and as you wanted to be yourself.

Marriage should not be taken as a law or as an institution, marriage without love is like slow poison; it will kill you each and every moment of your life, you cannot try pretending to be in love, law or culture cannot make two people love each other. A marriage cannot lead to love and happiness, let true love lead a marriage; it will lead you to happiness and joy for life time.

Old school of thought has missed the soul of marriage; they don’t care about the love, it is so dangerous; nobody knows where it will lead. Families were perhaps inadvertently ignorant and tried to manipulate the true nature of the heart; they would not approve of their children falling in love and rather they think marriage is family affair. This perhaps had an overtone of selfishness leading as means to their own comfort, position in the society and perhaps even gaining profit out of it!

In twenty  first century, with the new school of thought; young generations are much too rebellious, immature, too childish. They have made sex a free thing, enjoy sex and shrug off the emotions. It is almost like a changing clothes or trying different cuisines. Nowadays marriage is missing both the soul and body;  it really needs to go deep and discover true love.

Marriage and love is neither old or new in fashion nor Eastern and Western in culture. We need to discover love within us and if we really love someone, sooner or later the person will be in our life. And, also if you are deeply seeking real love, we will find the right person. If one is simply seeking sex, chances are minimal of them finding love.

Marriage is a very sacred and supreme relationship which forms the basic family structure of our life. It is a foundation of happy-life, mutual trust and respect. It will carry moral value of family, more discipline and the most importantly; it will bring the divine understanding of spiritual life in our existence!!!

Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared!

Does Miracle Really Exist?

Posted in Personal on June 3, 2012 by Kagyur Tulku Rinpochey

For all that I am today, I owe completely to my root GURU.

In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the relationship between the student and master is the most sacred; for it is the foundation of your divine journey for Buddha-hood and anchors the root of all your knowledge, wisdom and spiritual-experience. Therefore, selecting your master is essentially crucial task for the beginners.

Let me share my own experience, at the age of four I obtained blessing of the monk’s vows from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, and I was too small to choose my Monastic Root Guru. Therefore, His Holiness Dalai Lama has guided me and chose the Great Master Geshe Padma Gyaltsen as my Root Guru to teach me. I am very fortunate to be disciple His Holiness Dalai Lama and Geshe Padma Gyeltsen!

Although, the Guru has many other responsibilities apart from the educating the student; he has to look after his student with the care and focus that what he would for his own child, he provides shelter, robes, food and health-care as well. This sacred relationship will remain through out the life-time, it will develops unmovable true respect and faith towards your Guru. The greater the respect and faith you have, the more blessings and spiritual insight you receive.

Today, most of my Gurus are no longer amidst us; hover I feel their constant presence and guiding force within-me. Even now, whenever I face some kind of difficulties in understanding teachings of Dharma, to do meditation and practice; by as much as remembering my Gurus I receive immense help and inner guidance. Their compassion and kindness is like a ocean of wisdom, so vast and infinite. One who keeps the relationship with the one’s Guru, will continuously receive

After coming out from monastery, I visited various countries and seen many schools, colleges, universities and other numerous study centres, they are very well-equipped, modernized and so impressive but spending few days in those well-known universities as a visiting professor, I felt something deeply; a very important part of administration; the basis education was missing and I realized that was the true-love and true-respect relationship between teacher and student. The main reason is its conducted commercial agenda and involves fame and lots of money!

However, these days it is not possible for all the education centres to apply the system based on that of the monastery but they should try to appreciate inner value as much as possible. Inner value of the teachers and that of the students.

What is GOD’s Religion?

Posted in Personal on May 29, 2012 by Kagyur Tulku Rinpochey

Most people follow the religion which their forefathers have been following. I think, It is really nice culture, specially for the lay person, it is the best way to choose your religion. As it is more suitable and easy to follow as well.

However, most of the religions founded for humanity, man-kind and betterment for the world, not to create differences, competition, jealousy and to produce more followers or terrorism but there are many religious leaders; who are always trying to poisoning innocent people in the name of God and religion!

Therefore many people instead of practicing their own religion, starts criticizing other religion and trying to convert poor and innocent people in their religion as much as possible.

And, I found something very funny and stupid characters among the so-called religious people; no matter how weak, poor and uneducated they are, always takes full responsibility of protecting their God and religion, ever ready and eager to fight with anyone.

It shows their belief is very poisoned emotion and intentionally harming others! it is really unfortunate that in this twenty first century, still there are many people, who follows such a orthodox theory! I feel so sorry for this kind of narrow minded people.

On a humorous note, I would love to ask them simple questions;

(1) Does your God needs your support?
(2) Does he needs your help?
(3) Do you think, person like you, have to protect the God,
(4) Where is his super power?
(5) Why you are so insecure about your own belief?
(6) Don’t you fully believe in your God?
(7) Does generating anger, jealousy sufferings and violence in society and killing
innocent people makes your God and religion superior?

Unforgettable Moment!

Posted in Personal on May 23, 2012 by Kagyur Tulku Rinpochey

There are many especial moments in my life but this is the one, I will never ever forget and compare with any other incident in my life. I would like to share the most touched moment of my life; After spending twenty years as a Buddhist monk in monastery, I left monkhood and got married! There were many people who were not happy with my decision, even some of them had to hospitalized since I am carrying precious name of Kagyur Lama lineage.

However, very next day of my marriage I called the secretary to H.H. Dalai Lama and ask for private audience, within a week I got call for the audience. Then I visited Dharamsala where H.H.Dalai Lama resides. I was so nervous as well as scared when I enter the gate of his residence but there was no u turn I could take, I kept walking towards him and could not see his face, I bow down and touched his feet. As he hold me and hugged me tight for few minuets, I could not hold my tears. This moment is the most special moment of my life!

Beware, offending a holy being is worse than dying, therefore be honest and straightforward— Atisha

Is Buddhism a Religion?

Posted in Personal on May 22, 2012 by Kagyur Tulku Rinpochey
Buddhism goes beyond religion and it doesn’t come from anybody, it exists by itself.
Wisdom of Buddhism stand on structure of Interdependence, Sunyata is conclusion reality. Therefore Buddhism has established entire Universal’s existence base in Universal law of KARMA. Buddhism truly appreciates the practice of questioning, through realistic and logical way of investigation on all the teaching of Buddha. I believe this is a very unique and best way to understandreality of any kind of nature and to grow-up our
states of mind. Either Buddhism doesn’t believe in blind-faith or conversions.

“My doctrine is not a doctrine but just a vision. I have not given you any set rules, I have not given you a system”.
Buddha

Universal Law of Karma.

Since we were born, there is continuous changes due to the law of cause and effect. The law of cause and effect is known as KARMA.

Every moment we create new karma by what we say, do, and think. Nothing ever happens to us unless we deserves it. We receive exactly what we earn, whether it is good or bad. Sometime we think the law of karma explains why each individual has a unique mental nature, a unique physical outer-shell and unique experiences. These are the various effects of the countless actions that each individual has been done in the past lives. We cannot find any two people who have created exactly the same history and so we cannot find two people with identical states of mind, identical character, and identical physical appearance!

Living and Dying

Posted in Personal on May 19, 2012 by Kagyur Tulku Rinpochey

I really want to belong to the present itself so that I can live each and every moment afresh, young, alive, with great adventure for the next moment. Unless our life becomes an ecstasy,

When we live today with total honesty, tomorrow will be another happier day, it is the karmic law of nature.
Instead of worrying for tomorrow or death, we must live our life meaningfully; Meaningful life doesn’t mean that becoming rich, famous and powerful-person, it means a life useful for others, our human life is precious and too short to be wasted, even an hour! If we know how to live with nature, our basic need for survive is easily manageable. Life is not complicated, our-self take it so serious and make it full of tension.

However, on this earth, we have enough problems like; terrorism, religion, politics, corruptions etc, that we need not add more problems.
If we love our children that we should provide them with better environment, harmony, humanity and peaceful-world.
It is not a difficult task, it is not beyond our reach for which we have to work hard. We can simply start from today, even from now; try to be a kind-person, help others as much as you can and whenever possible, it is always possible!!! Let’s be a humble and do it together.

“Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible”…..H.H.Dalai Lama

We have all died many-times, death is not the end of our continuum, it is kind of a junction that connects to the next life.
Death will take us to the next birth, it also depends on how we spend our life, as well spent day brings blissful-sleep, so life well-lived achieve peaceful death and better life in next birth.
We should always be ready to face death), it is the ultimate truth of our life.  When death will come and knock our door, we should appreciate it and let go beyond all the emotions but dying fully alert, very nature in its absolute clarity, in its absolute purity and in its absolute awareness is the achieving death form of SAMADHI.

”Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely”…..Buddha

POWER OF TRUTH

Posted in Personal on May 14, 2012 by Kagyur Tulku Rinpochey

These days people don’t believe in what you say, they believe in the way you say, once you have learned how to project yourself, people start believing in you . And, if you know the art of  telling lies, more people will believe in you, you start becoming powerful. And then you can manage few more things;  unique dress, few stupid people following you left and right side, and some shameless P.R.O speaking great things about you, you become superman and your power will be immense.

However, there are very few personality, who truly live very simple life, respect humanity, harmony, principles and justice. Therefore we can strongly believe that, the voice of Anna Hazare can become a voice of revolution and  national anthem of young Indian!

Long Live H.H.Dalai Lama

Posted in Personal on May 14, 2012 by Kagyur Tulku Rinpochey

LONDON: Tibet’s Buddhist leader, the Dalai Lama, fears China may have plotted to kill him by training female agents with poison in their hair and on their clothing, he told Britain’s Sunday Telegraph newspaper.

China has ruled Tibet since 1950, and the Chinese government has repeatedly accused exiled Tibetans, including the Dalai Lama, of stoking dissent against its rule. The spiritual leader fled to India in 1959 after a failed uprising.

Last year he was warned that Chinese agents had trained Tibetan women to kill him, the Sunday Telegraph reported.

Asked about the assassination plot, the Dalai Lama said: “Oh yes. In the hair poisoned and scarf poisoned. So they say they’re sick, supposed to seek blessing from me. And my hand touch. That kind of information we received.”

“I don’t know whether 100 percent correct or not. There is no possibility to cross-check,” he added, speaking in broken English in a video posted on the Telegraph’s website.

The Dalai Lama’s comments follow a spate of self-immolations and protests against Chinese control in the country’s Tibetan-populated areas, prompting the ruling Communist Party to tighten security.

I used to be short temper person!

“Anger is one letter short of danger”

I used to be short temper person

I had this funny practical incident back in Japan years ago.
In Tokyo; I was invite to give a public talk in  university. Very same day of talk I was  waiting in hotel lobby for my driver to come; 10 minute to start the talk! However I can’t be late as I am the main key speaker.

As you know Japanese has great traditional of respecting for  time and being punctual! It was getting late for talk at the time and felt disturbed. I was loosing my temper minutes by minutes for waiting. Finally he came but late by more than 10 minutes.

On the way while driving to the university, I asked what happen? He replied saying he had fight with his wife and so on. I felt more angry; it would be understandable if he is sick but he been fighting; that to against wife. Then I didn’t responds a word back as symbolic of anger state.

I start my talk with apologizing for audiences for being late but I couldn’t concentrate on my talk well and effective  as of my anger to the driver.Coincidentally, the topic of my talk was ” How to control your Anger “, after minutes I realized that, without practicing how to control anger; I was tray to preach how to control your anger! Then I told my audience about the incident and everyone started laughing including my driver. After that my talk went well.

I would like to share some of Buddha’s Quotes on anger!!!!!!!

1 “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned”
2 “You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger”

Love and be lovable!

Posted in Personal on May 10, 2012 by Kagyur Tulku Rinpochey

Good Morning Everyone :)

Life is precious and beautiful, we should live our life sincerely in such a simple way; appreciate what we have, exhale love  and affection as much as we can and try not to harm others. These are the qualities we have to adopt. Even-though if we have millions of dollar, we cannot buy these qualities from the market but we can get achieve them just loving and being livable!

When we are in young age, death is far away beyond our vision, do we cares about the meaning of life?

When we are in old age, death is just standing close to us, life is almost in the position of eve of sunset, do we care about the meaning of life?

We don’t value our life, we just take it so easy and casually. However, no one has seen and experienced death but we all do afraid of death. I found this is very immature nature of us. We all are like a child; if we really scared of death then we should respect our life and make it meaningful; by just loving and being lovable.

Welcome; My First Post.

Dear Friends,

This will be my personal BLOG for the first time and I am very excited about it. I will be posting my thoughts, events and expressions in intent to help others or least not to harm : )

It is more or less like social networks. I also look forward for an interactive exchange of our thoughts. For least I plan to post twice in a week to get in touch and feel connected. Hope you have great time on my BLOG.

I may not be great intellectual or great thinker. However, today, I would like to share some thoughts, which helped me grow a better human being from day to day;Our life is so precious and simple, it can be fully lived if you live it naturally, if you impose artificial and too much of desire in it, you will destroy your life and driven simple to complicated way.

Living natural and being close to nature is the key to happiness life! Always see the positive side of your life and appreciate it, when you see negative side in your life, always try to find the cause of the negatives such as ignorance, attachments and anger etc. And, apply the solutions such as wisdom, love and compassion, rather than being saddened!
